EXPANDING ARTS ACCESS FOR THE WORLD'S MOST VULNERABLE YOUTH
WHY THE ARTS? WHY THESE CHILDREN?
Arts education offers crucial opportunities for children living in poverty. The arts fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while also promoting socio-emotional development, cultural awareness, and community engagement, leading to well-rounded individuals and a more vibrant society.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT
Albergue Simon Bolivar – Queseria, Colima, Mexico
This video highlights a songwriting workshop we hosted for 105 children of Albergue Simon Bolivar. In this workshop the children, ages 4 to 15, were able to write and record an original song with ARTEAMOR Teaching Artist, Yahir Montes. They were so proud to be songwriters and asked if that was their song and they could sing it anytime they wanted to. When we told them the song was theirs, the realization made them feel joyful.
ARTEAMOR donated a large bluetooth speaker for school events as well as each child received a drink and snack with a notebook they could personalize, color pencils, stickers, and regular pencils. Currently, ARTEAMOR has an ongoing guitar class at the school.
